Press Nuts

Press nuts are nuts that are pressed into sheet metal. The claws allow the press nuts to get a good grip. Press nuts are made of steel or stainless steel.

Press nuts already belong to the modern way of providing thin-walled sheet metal or other materials with a sufficiently thick thread, as the Press nuts allows. This method of making sheet metal parts fit and providing them with a loadable thread has become more and more popular in recent years, particularly in the field of thin sheet metal processing, but more about this later. In this article we would like to explain to you more about the exact assembly and construction of Press nuts. Furthermore, the materials used are discussed and of course we would like to give you an insight into what the production of such special elements entails. We would like to start again with the detailed assembly of Press nuts made of steel or stainless steel. In principle, an Press nuts is similar to a normal hexagon nut, which has a fine but significant difference. At this Press nuts there is an additional collar, which is set off and provided with a large knurling. This shoulder is relatively narrow so that the nut can be pressed in even on thin sheets without the collar coming out on the back of the sheets. If a hole is now drilled into a thin sheet metal, which has a diameter equal to the core diameter of the shoulder of the Press nuts, the new connection between nut and sheet metal can then be made. If the Press nuts with the press-in collar and the knurling is now placed on the hole in the sheet metal, the nut can now be pressed in or driven in. The knurling on the collar of the nut ensures a firm fit in the sheet metal element. It is important that the direction of load on the insert nut after assembly is correct. The screw connection with the tensile force must always be made from the opposite side of the Press nuts so that the nut can press against the material and is not torn out. The material used for a Press nuts is always bare steel. This is usually covered with a nickel layer, so that the corrosion can be delayed. In order to avoid complete corrosion against water, stainless steel Press nuts are always used. However, if these elements are to be used near salt water, as on boats and yachts, the alloy V4A should always be used as stainless steel, not V2A as with the Varriante just discussed.

Our stock range of press nuts - buy online in our online shop

Press Nuts Stainless Steel V2A V4AIn order to meet the growing demand from industry and increasingly from the private sector, it is important that online shops can also supply the corresponding press nuts to customers in the required quantity. This cannot be taken for granted, as most of them cannot easily deliver the desired quantities. For this reason, we have also decided to provide the entire range of press nuts in all common sizes and materials, i.e. in steel or stainless steel (V2A and V4A). This is easiest if we can offer the products via our online shop. With this we offer our customers from Europe and Germany the possibility to buy all press nuts cheaply via our online shop. To ensure that the shopping experience is not clouded and that you can shop unhindered, it is important that the subject of security is not neglected. We have taken care of this issue in time and have decided to change the whole website to the secure SSL certificate. Your data, which Suie has deposited with us, will of course benefit from this and will no longer be accessible to third parties when your purchase is transferred to our merchandise management system using steel or stainless steel press nuts. Let us also say a few words about how a purchase on our domain should be handled so that your order can be processed quickly and easily. We are sure that you are one of our customers who found us on the Internet using the search engine and the search word "press nuts". This is nice and so you have the possibility to put together your goods in our online shop and put them in the shopping cart in the quantity you need. Once this first purchase step is completed, the second step follows. In this step you can now create a customer account and store all your data. Please open a login area and enter your email address. If you have now all required press nuts in the size you need in your basket and also all other products, you can now complete the order. To do so, log in to your account and follow the shop instructions and the "continue" button. After a few entries a selection of payment options will appear from which you can choose the best one. After the payment the goods are purchased and we send you an order confirmation. Now we can assemble your press nuts and send them to you.

The production of press nuts

Press Nuts Stainless Steel V2A V4ASo that such press nuts can be fitted to machine covers and other technical equipment for the first time, they must of course first be manufactured. All those of you who handle press nuts made of steel or stainless steel every day know exactly how they are mounted and also screwed together. However, very few of you know more about how these special nuts can actually be manufactured on machines. Also in this chapter we would like to shed a little more light on the dark and give you an understanding of the production processes. In plain language, this means that today all press nuts can be produced on so-called CNC screw machines. Only these machines are exactly designed for such tasks and are able to realize the production in a profitable way and still produce a high quality nut. The issue of speed and night-shift operation is also a decisive question. Such CNC automatic machines are designed to have a machining chuck that can securely and firmly clamp the raw material and turn it into a press nuts. In the outer part of the machine there is a loader that can pick up a few bars of round material and therefore can take the raw material as stainless steel or steel in a hexagonal shape or on round, according to the needs. Once all the press nuts have been resolved and all the CNC parameters have been loaded, the production of press nuts can begin. In addition, the hexagonal raw material from the loader is always drawn into the chuck of the lathe first. Then it is securely clamped and machining can begin. First of all the collar is screwed onto the press nuts. In the next section the collar surface is knurled. When this section is completed, the center core hole is drilled. Once this is done, the thread is cut into the nut. Now the chamfering on the outside of the knurled collar takes place. In the last section the almost finished insert nut is now cut off and falls into a collecting container. When enough parts are collected, the nut can be washed so that all oil residues are washed off. Finally, all press nuts can be stored in our warehouse and if you place an order, we can ship the goods to you.
