Grub screws are today an important fastening element in the large family of fastening elements. But many of you do not know what the term "grub screw" exactly means and what is hidden behind this term. In this article we would like to shed more light on the dark chapter of grub screws made of steel or stainless steel V2A or V4A, so that you know exactly what is associated with this term and what such screws can be used for today. But we would also like to go into the exact structure of a grub screw made of metal in more detail and in which versions these can be purchased in our online shop. Basically, the term "grub screw" has crept in over the last few years, because it usually refers to grub screws or studs. But many people prefer to use the term grub screw instead of stud screw. A grub screw looks very similar to a maggot, as it can be found in an apple. This is true, because a maggot also has a head and a corrugated body. But let us now come to the construction of a grub screw. This has a thread on a long or short shaft or pin, which is usually continuous. There is no real head, that's why these screws are also called rendered headless screws. At the "head" is always countersunk in the thread the slot, with which a drive is present, where a screwdriver can be set to tighten these screws. But also Torx drives or hexagonal drives are popular drive types for all grub screws. The grub screw does not always have to have a continuous thread, but can have completely different thread lengths. These types of screws are used exclusively on machine parts, such as for clamping shafts and hubs, and less as pure fastening elements, as known from screws with heads. In all parts where a clamping function must be used, grub screws are an optimal connection. The material used for such clamping screws is always normal mild steel in the standard version. However, if you want to put higher loads on the screws and reduce corrosion, you should always switch to grub screws made of stainless steel as V2A or V4A for acid resistance. In the next section we would like to take a closer look at our stock of stainless steel grub screws.
Our stock program of grub screws - buy in our Online Shop
Now you will think why we offer grub screws made of metal, steel or stainless steel through our online shop and want to make them available to our customers throughout Europe. Fastening technology has steadily increased in importance in recent years. Without a screw fastening it is impossible to think of a machine assembly today. Today, every type of fastening is realized with a screw connection before welding. This is also the case with grub screws. Only this type of clamp fastening or position locking has become more and more popular and is a cost-effective way to implement your constructive machines at low cost. Grub screws are today just as well known as most other screws. Whoever has to create connections in mechanical engineering unfortunately cannot avoid such screws. Due to this constantly increasing demand in the last decades, the demand has also increased and therefore more and more online shops have to provide enough set screws made of steel or stainless steel to cover the demand. So we offer our customers a buy your favorable grub screws over our online shop 24 hours a day and, so that the goods can be delivered fast and inexpensive to home or in the company. The production of grub screws
In the last article, we will only deal with the production of all imaginable grub screws that are available on the market. Many people ask themselves again and again, how such special screws can actually be produced in today's modern times? We would like to explain these and other questions about the production of grub screws in more detail in the last chapter of grub screws. Of course the first and most important point, as with any production, is the economic efficiency, which plays the main role in the production of grub screws. In those days, when time and money were still available, old cam-type automatic lathes could be used for the production of set screws. These were machines that consisted exclusively of mechanical components and were therefore very robust. Today it is a little different. Today, only CNC screw machines are used for the production of grub screws. These have a processing head within the machine and therefore the single steps of the production can be controlled exactly by a CNC program. Outside a ring loader is coupled, which has wound the raw wire coil with the stainless steel wire or the bare steel wire. However, this form of wire feeding only applies to thin grub screws. For thicker grub screws, bar loaders are used. Once the CNC program has been loaded and the machine has been set up, production can begin. Now the wire can be fed into the machine and the endless production of set screws can start. First the length of the grub screw is cut to length. In the second step the drive is now pressed into one side of the grub screw. This can be a drive as torx or hexagon. If this second stage of the production is also completed, the last part is done, which allows the thread rolling on the outside of the pin. The thread rolls are always used here, which have two counter-rotating rolls as components and the tube body of the almost finished grub screw is now turned under high pressure between the rolls. Now the threads can be transferred to the grub screw. Once this is also completed, the part that counts the finished parts arrives and is then stored in our warehouse. If your order comes in now, we can confirm your purchase and pack the set screws together and send them to you. After a few days you will receive your set screws and can use them in your project. .
