The manufacture of metric screws
Now we have also arrived at the last section of this article. We have already been able to highlight the importance of metric screws in production today in all areas of the economy in the previous article. As a rule, people cannot really imagine what quantities of metric screws are being used and screwed today, i.e. every day in industry and also increasingly by hobbyists. Nevertheless, we would like to give you some basic data on how such machine-made metric screws can be produced on ultra-modern CNC screw machines. In the past this was all quite different. Purely mechanical machines were used, which differed in that they did not contain a CNC control or any other control that had to run electrically. The control was then a mechanical cam plate control. These letters then took over the production control of the metric screw production. The quality was very good and also the downtimes were manageable. But the production times are very slow with such machines and also the changeover times were extremely long. Nowadays CNC machines are used, which can produce all kinds of metric and inch screws as well as wood screws at a rapid speed and with a very high accuracy. The changeover times are so short and all parameters are stored on a stick which is then loaded into the software of the machine. In the machining centre the stainless steel or steels are then processed into metric screws. Outside is the large drum loader for the endless wire reel frame and a loader for strand material made of stainless steel V2A or V4A or even normal steel.
