Eye Nuts

Eye nuts are round nuts with a standing eyelet on top. This makes eye nuts perfect for lifting machine parts and attaching slings.

This article will deal exclusively with the widely used eye nuts made of steel or stainless steel. Eye nuts are subordinate to a very special species, because the eye nuts were developed for very special purposes and do not really serve as connecting elements in the actual sense of the word, but are already among the stop elements used in lifting technology. We would like to take a closer look at many individual points in this article. We will go into the exact details of how such lifting elements of the eye nuts can be used in mechanical and plant engineering and would like to offer you some insights into the use of stainless steel eye nuts and steel eye nuts so that you can quickly understand the actual purpose of such elements. At the same time, we would also like to discuss the materials of which such eye nuts can be made and the different applications they must be able to withstand. We will also discuss the detailed structure of an eye nut. Subsequently, we will also discuss how our stock program of eye nuts made of steel or stainless steel (V2A or V4A) looks like. However, we would like to start with the assembly. An eye nut has, as the name suggests, an eye shape or even a ring. A nut is cast or forged onto the base of this eyelet. This thread can then be screwed into a machine part or cladding or a steel component. Once the eye nut has been screwed and tightened to the part to be fastened, load hooks or ropes can be secured with shackles through the eye. Once this procedure has been completed, the load can be lifted and transported safely. As a rule, these eye nuts remain a fixed component of the load element to be moved. In this way, additional slings can be hooked onto the eye nut at any time and transport is secured. There are two different versions of eye nuts. On the one hand, they can be cast eye nuts or forged eye nuts made of steel or stainless steel. The cast eye nuts are made for light lifting operations whereas the forged eye nuts are made for very heavy loads. The material used for eye nuts is always higher-strength structural steel or stainless steel than V2A or V4A.

Eye Nuts Stainless Steel V2A V4AOver the last decades, a lot has happened in the mechanical engineering industry. More and more large and small technical systems are found more and more often in companies that have to take over special technical requirements in production. So these devices have to be lifted and also transported. Of course this change of location always has something to do with the fact that eye nuts made of steel or stainless steel have to be screwed in. These eye nuts are technically and cost-wise the best aids in the transport sector. For this reason, the demand for eye nuts is constantly growing and the online areas, such as online shops, have to ensure availability. Because this availability cannot always be guaranteed, we have also included eye nuts in our product range for our customers from Germany and the rest of Europe some time ago. So now our customers have the possibility to buy their eye nuts virtually around the clock at our online shop. To ensure that the entire ordering process, i.e. the purchase of the eye nuts, is quick and secure, we have converted the entire domain to the secure SSL-encoded procedure. Thereby all your purchase data will be encrypted and transferred to our merchandise management system when you purchase your eye nuts. While we are on the subject, we would also like to show you quickly the exact procedure for an order. Surely you have also found us, because you have used a big search engine and entered the search word "eye nut made of steel or stainless steel". Thereby our website was surely also shown to you. Now you are with us and also immediately in the right category of eye nuts. Please take your time to look around in our online shop to choose your eye nuts and then add them to your shopping cart in the quantity you require. Afterwards, if you are finished and don't want to buy anything else, you can create your account with us. If you would like to buy and pay for the eye nuts, go to the shopping cart while logged in and click on continue until the payment options are displayed. Now select the payment and pay for the eye nuts. If the payment was successful, you will receive an order confirmation by e-mail in which you can see which sizes of eye nuts you have just bought.

The production of eye nuts from steel or stainless steel

Eye Nuts Stainless Steel V2A V4AHaving arrived at the last section of eye nuts, it is also intended to provide a small insight into how such steel eye nuts and stainless steel eye nuts can be produced cost-effectively in today's production world. We would like to take a closer look at two processes. On the one hand, there are the eye nuts which can be installed as a cast version in steel or stainless steel, and also the heavy-duty eye nuts which are forged from one piece. We would like to start with the cast eye nuts. In order to produce such eye nuts, a sample as positive form is always required at the beginning. This form is produced in a wax technique. Once the mould is perfect, several wax eye nuts can be assembled and attached to a single sprue. Now comes the moment when the wax pieces are dipped in a liquid slurry and then placed in a burnout oven for curing. Now the burning sludge hardens and afterwards the wax evaporates. Only the shell remains. This can now be filled with liquid stainless steel or steel. Once this process is complete, the raw eye nuts must be removed when the temperature has cooled down. During this process the layer of mud is broken up and the cast blanks on eyelet nuts are removed. Now the grinding and polishing as well as the machining of the thread in the bottom area of the eye nuts takes place so that the nut can also be screwed on. The forged eye nuts are manufactured completely differently. A piece of steel or stainless steel is made red-hot and brought to temperature. Now the hot block is forged into shape in a drop forge so that a usable and highly durable eye nut can be produced. The high load-bearing capacity of a forged eyelet nut is so high because the structure of the microstructure is firmly connected and thus the individual molocools can be linked together. This process is only achieved by the forging process.
