What are flat head screws? Many people who have already heard this term or know what flat head screws are and are looking for the right screws for their building project are certainly asking themselves this question quickly and safely. Flat-head screws have been around for a long time, because they were still in production at the end of the 18th century because demand had risen steadily. This was also the result because riveted joints made of solid rivets became too expensive. When one recognized that flat head screws can be used everywhere and in addition have a very flat head, the triumphal march began and more and more of these screws had to be produced. Today, flat head screws are produced in all variations and are used in industry. The most common screws consist either of steel, which has a coating or even better, the so-called stainless steel flat head screws, which are made of V2A or V4A. The special thing about these screws is that they have an extremely flat head shape. This flat head shape has the clear advantage that these screws can be used as optical effects on machines or motorcycles, or in components on machines that require flat head screws for space reasons, because the next component simply comes too close to the screws to sit. So the flat head screws can be equipped with completely different tool holders. This always includes the slotted version as the basic tool holder, whereby the head of the flat-head screw is provided with a relatively deep slot. A slotted screwdriver with a wide receptacle can be used to tighten or loosen these screws. The next possible tool holder is the cross slot. This is also located relatively deep inside the screw, so that the flat-head screw can be tightened quickly and powerfully using a Phillips screwdriver. The screw has a relatively similar construction to the standard screws, but only with an oversized flat screw head. At this head the screw shaft with the thread metric or inch thread is attached. In the following articles we would like to give you an idea of the range of flat head screws we have in stock and how they are manufactured.

Our product range of stainless steel flat head screws - Buy online in our online shop

Flat Head Screws Stainless Steel V2A V4ASince flat head screws are in principle already quite special screws, we included these relatively late in our assortment. The advantage of these scrub hoods is that they are so large due to the very large head and the surface covered with them that these screws can be used without washers. The surface pressure is smaller and there are no marks when tightening or loosening the screws. So this flat head screw has a serious advantage compared to the normal cylinder head screws and the other screw types. We started with the construction of our stock assortment at that time with the cylinder head screws in all conceivable sizes and lengths. But as with most of the coincidences, it was our long-standing customers from Germany and the rest of Europe who were able to offer flat-head screws. We followed this up and looked for a suitable supplier who could supply us with high-quality screws of this kind on a permanent basis. The success proves us right and it was worthwhile to include flat head screws (with collar) in our delivery program. Thus we offer our customers the possibility to buy their flat head screws and the other products around the clock in our online shop. The production of flat head screws

Flat Head Screws Stainless Steel V2A V4AAs with the other Scr hoods, we would like to give you an idea in this section of how flat head screws made of stainless steel or steel can be produced on machines. In order to be able to use these screws in technical installations, it is of course necessary that these screws are first manufactured. We would like to bring this manufacturing process a little closer to you, so that you also know how the technical processes work. These machines are called CNC screw machines. Only these machines can produce all common screw connections with all imaginable head forms. Today we would like to talk about flat-head screw production. This screw machine is always equipped with a production chuck inside the machine. The first and most important manufacturing processes always take place in this chuck. Behind this machine chuck is the supply drum, which has wound up the endless wire and feeds it to the machine. In the first manufacturing process, the raw wire is fed as stainless steel wire or as bare steel wire and shortened to the appropriate length within the machine. After this first section, the second work step takes place, which causes the screw head to be "pre-pressed". The screw head of the flat-head screw is pressed in such a way that the rear collar is finished. In the next working step, the end head form is made using the specified pressing tool, which is also pressed here with high pressure. In this working cycle, the flat head form is pressed and the corresponding slot form is worked in. Now only the thread is missing, which has to be rolled into the shaft of the screw. Two opposite thread rolling plates are used, which are hardened. The shaft of the screw is now rolled back and forth between the plates under high pressure. The thread contour of the flat-head screw is transferred to the shank. Now the screw is firmly finished. The last working step is the cleaning by washing, whereby all oil remainders of the manufacturing are completely removed. The flat head screw is now ready for sale and can be stored in our stock.
